JOINS AND LIGAMENTS
Simply stated a joint is a place where two bones meet. Some bones need to be securely joined for stability while others need more freedom of movement. there are three types of joints, Fibrous, Cartilaginous, and Synovial
SYNOVIAL JOINT
The most common joint is the synovial joint where the bones are covered by a joint cavity containing synovial fluid, this allows for greater mobility of the bone.
Types of Synovial Joints
There are six types of synovial joints: plane, condoloid, saddle, hinge, ball and socket, and pivot joints.
FIBROUS JOINT
The Fibrous Joint is where bones are joined by fibrous tissue, this allows for no movement.
CARTILAGINOUSJOINT
The Cartilaginous Joint is where bones are connected by cartilage. this allows for slight movement.
